I am a local home inspector and see many homes that just get neglected. I want to give all homeowners and renters some ideas to help keep up the quality of their investment.

Here is a quick home maintenance checklist for the month of January:

• Check gutters for leaks and attachment

• Change HVAC/furnace filter

• Inspect fire extinguishers

• Clean behind kitchen appliances

• Deep clean oven

• Vacuum refrigerator coils
